M1 Sales Associate

Job Description/Profile:

 

The role of the Sales Associate at Management One® is to generate sales from new retail customers for Management One’s software-driven merchandise planning service and to support the activities of the Director of Sales and other members of the sales team. The Sales Associate will be responsible for developing relationships with prospects, understanding their needs, and presenting proposals that bring value to the customer while achieving revenue and margin targets for Management One®. The Sales Associate will also play a key role in client prospecting and research, maintaining the company’s CRM system, and handling client contracts.

 

Responsibilities

  • Research and contact assigned leads promptly and thoroughly, and take prospects through the entire sales funnel from intro call to contract signing

  • Present our company and our products to potential clients both in-person and virtually, with an emphasis on virtual demo

  • Identify client needs and present our products/services based on their needs

  • Write detailed client proposals using existing templates

  • Keep the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system up to date by logging activities and updating customer records

  • Follow up with dropped clients and cold leads

  • Help ensure quick and effective follow-up to sales events

  • In collaboration with the marketing team, conduct research to identify and cultivate new sources of leads and new customer needs

  • Provide customer and prospect feedback to product development and marketing teams

  • Process client contracts following agreed procedures

  • For newly signed customers, collaborate with the Professional Services team to ensure smooth hand-off of customers to their assigned consultants following the M1 Process

  • Support the Director of Sales and Business Development in appointment setting, prospect research, trade show presentation preparation, CRM maintenance, contract processing, and other activities as requested

Requirements

  • 2+ years work experience in a sales role, preferably selling software, consulting services, or other complex intangible services

  • Familiarity with retail industry preferred; understanding of retail business analytics a strong plus

  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques – videoconference, telephone, e-mail, social media, in person

  • Track record of achieving sales targets

  • Experience with CRM software and other software tools such as LinkedIn

  • Familiarity with MS Office or Google G-Suite

  • Understanding of sales performance metrics

  • Excellent listening, communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations

  • Comfort working in a virtual environment

  • Proficiency in English required, Spanish a plus

  • Ability to build rapport

  • Time management and planning skills

  • Demonstrate mastery of and passion for the art of selling

  • Must demonstrate solid listening skills and a consultative sales approach, with proven ability to identify and build relationships with key decision-makers
