Doug Arvanites has been a consultant for the retail and apparel industries since December 2009. He works with independent retailers to strengthen their businesses and generate MORE CASH by making better use of their biggest investments: their inventory and their people. He is an affiliated retail expert of Management One™, leveraging their “Science” (industry-leading technology) to complement the “Art” and passion great retailers bring to their businesses. Doug applies his broad experience to complement the strengths of his clients in order to grow sales, manage change and solve problems in their businesses.
Doug has also worked for The Doneger Group, a fashion advisory firm in New York and done project work for Kurt Salmon Associates, Kingfisher Group and Gerson Lehrman Group. Prior to 2009, he was a merchandising executive with national retail chains in the Luxury, Specialty, Department Store and Off-Price channels for over 25 years. He supervised the planning, buying, marketing and presentation of products ranging from Home Décor, Women’s Apparel & Accessories and Children’s to his core competency of Menswear.
Early in his career, Doug served in-store management capacities, focusing on people development, visual execution, space productivity analysis, and operations.
